What to expect from a coaching session
Coaching sessions are designed to focus on one or two primary issues that you are experiencing within your family and parenting. Prior to starting the coaching sessions, you will be asked to complete a brief intake form, which will help us make the most of our time together. If you need guidance identifying your main parenting trouble spots, don't worry, I will help you figure out where we should begin.
The first coaching session is always 75 minutes and subsequent sessions are typically 60 minutes in length. After learning what is currently working well in your parenting, we will focus together on your areas of difficulty. You will be offered supporting tools and strategies to try right away during the first full session. After each session, you will receive a follow-up email with a summary of what was discussed and what strategies were recommended.
On average, parent coaching requires between three and nine sessions. While I do not offer therapy, I do offer therapeutic strategies for a variety of situations, such as parenting children with special needs, children experiencing behavioral dysregulation, families providing foster care or who have adopted children, or families with children who have experienced trauma. I partner with families to investigate the problem areas, figure out why they are occurring, and create specific and practical strategies to improve the situation. I enjoy seeing the results of this partnership as families begin to experience more peace and balance in their homes.
